SWELTR are a Dublin-based DIY alternative rock two-piece made up of Tony Keyes on guitar and vocals and Noel Dempsey on drums and backing vocals.

Formed in 2022, the band have built their sound around heavy riffs, melodic hooks and raw energy, drawing influence from grunge, punk and alternative rock. Tony uses a split-signal guitar setup across multiple amps to create the weight of a full band, while Noel’s hard-hitting, dynamic drumming gives the songs their shape, momentum and intensity. His backing vocals add another layer to the band’s live sound. Together, they create something far bigger than the sum of two people.

SWELTR’s music is built through a collaborative DIY process, with both members playing a hands-on role in writing, recording and shaping the identity of the band. Their songs move between heavier, abrasive moments and more melodic hooks, while keeping the raw energy of their live performances at the centre.

Since releasing their debut single, “What’s It Gonna Be?”, SWELTR have continued to develop their sound across a run of independent releases, including “Psycha” and their most recent single, “Noodles”. Their music has earned them a front-cover feature in Totally Dublin, a live performance and interview on RTÉ’s Sessions From Oblivion, and a support slot at The Academy Dublin for Nirvana Tribute.

SWELTR are currently preparing to release a new single, followed by their debut EP this autumn. Recorded at Oblivion Studios, the project sees the band push their sound further while staying true to the DIY approach and live energy at the heart of everything they do.
